Danielle and Martin were married on September 3rd last year, with a ceremony and reception at Belvedere & Company Events. After an amazing engagement session with this couple at the Union Market, I was thrilled to see them start their new chapter in life.
My second shooter, Nadia, started out the morning with the bride and bridesmaids. Danielle was positively brimming with excitement as she got into her dress. Her smile was a mile wide. Meanwhile, I was with Martin and his groomsmen in a different hotel. As they were getting ready, they realized that none of the men were able to tie Martin’s bow tie. Each and every one of them tried to fix it but were unable to. Although I’d never tied a bowtie, thankfully, I was able to figure it out and get the groom fixed up.
I then drove to Belvedere & Co to meet Danielle and her bridesmaids in the bridal suite. While she was getting ready, I captured one of my favorite photos of all time. The wind blew open the curtains while Danielle was posing in front of the window, and I managed to capture the whole scene at exactly the right moment. The way the fabric gently billowed out around her was like something out of a dream.
Once we got to the ceremony, Martin wore his emotions on his sleeve. He was very touched seeing his sister, mother, and mother-in-law-to-be, and he stopped to give each one a long hug to show how much he appreciated them. When Danielle made her stunning entrance, Martin started tearing up. Terrance, his best man and brother, comforted him in that moment. It showed both the love between Martin and his bride and the love between two brothers.
After the ceremony concluded, I took both the bride and groom out for a quick photoshoot in downtown Baltimore as the sun set.
Martin and Danielle made a stunning re-entrance to the reception after Danielle changed her outfit. They did a traditional Cameroonian wedding dance in which everyone circled around to throw money at the couple. In some cases, the guests would even come up and stick the bills right to the bride and groom’s foreheads!
Martin & Danielle, thank you for letting me be a part of your wonderful wedding! I’ve loved being part of your love story since your engagement and wish for nothing but the best for you two.
